Site News 05-16-20
Per request, we have begun re-posting the classic gallery images. We've started with two sets and will add more soon. Each set features the original large-format JPEG files. We've even thrown a few never before seen images from these sets, too, but to add something fresh to the mix.
If you haven't done so already, I strongly urge you to review the site update suggestions thread here, where you can put in a suggestion for a new feature on Humbled Females that you'd like to see implemented.
Currently, we are working on a new member home page for HF, where things will be tied together more neatly upon logging in. We are also bringing a new feature to the member experience: writings. With this addition to the site, members will have the ability to journal their thoughts and experiences, or just write simple notes. This project will also be tying into a new feed system, where you will be kept up to date more efficiently about your friends' activities. This will make friendships on this site finally mean something. ;-)
Coming quite soon after will be a complete overhaul of the gallery function (the current system is outdated and inefficient). Members will be able to upload a total of 8 images, in addition to their avatars. We think that's a fair number. We're still not crazy about allowing females the ability to build shrines unto themselves on this network. We feel that by limiting the number of images one can upload to their gallery, the focus is directed back where it belongs: on other members and community engagement.
And finally, the long-awaited recode of the site will commence, where everything will be revamped on the backside in pure PHP, skipping the WordPress CMS. The look and feel of the site will stay the same, but the performance will double, and new features will be much easier to add thereafter (that's why I'm asking for wish lists).
At some point during all these updates, we will also be making this site searchable by member location, allowing people to find other believers in their cities/locales. There has been a tremendous push to bring more of that type of functionality to this site, and the time has come to do so.
So we're pretty excited about all the changes coming to the site! They will definitely enhance user experience and make this network a little more useful.
