Humbled Females: new forum reply to Complacency

New reply from liawahine

Intensely consistent submissive mindfulness may well be the answer.

It can be hard to distinguish complacency and contentment as a slave. If you look up complacent, part of many definitions is the lack of desire to improve, to set goals, to keep moving forward in other words – but as a slave, i have found the deepest joy comes in the lack of desire for more. More of anything. Does this then mean i am complacent? i do not think so, at least, it does not feel that way to me. i feel contentment. i am happy with what i have and who i am, and i do not need any more than this, but welcome whatever new thing or activity Master sets me to, so how is it different i ask… Another word for complacent that came up allot when i looked deeper into the word itself was smug , and that word helps me to pull the 2 similar definitions apart .

i think contentment results from realizing that you have everything that can make you happy. You find joy in the possessions that you already have. You are delighted with your status and situation. A contented person is also satisfied because they have broken the cycle of demanding more.

Whereas complacency can be likened to laziness. A complacent person is not satisfied with their current situation, but will not work enough to reach their potential, often blaming external things for their dissatisfaction. i think…! :)

In response to another iteration of the bromide "Submission is earned" on twitter, I saw that Humbled females answered thus: Dominance is also earned and not by complacently waiting for the perfect man to fix you.

What does it mean to you not to be complacent either in your submission or in waiting to earn a dominant man's attention? What does it mean for the men? What work is best done by herself on herself?
